Astra Airlines was facing some major problems with their old website.
First of all, the route map was built in Flash technology. With that being severely technically outdated, Astra’s people could not manage it themselves. They had to constantly address the developers, asking them to add or change routes, whenever they were altered, even on late hours and weekends. Naturally, there were constant fees and delays.
On the other hand, the company was in need of a fully customised CRM, a tailor-made application that would host all their confidential corporate & security documents, while giving them administration rights so that they would control who can see which files. This was a very serious challenge that their partners at the time found rather hard to take on.
Our approach to solving Astra’s problems was simple (although it sounds utterly incomprehensible). We used Javascript combined with Google Maps Api Js. We created DataTables with all destination data saved within the CMS and we projected them onto the map. Next, with the help of Polylines, we produced the route of the plane. For the final outcome, we added intervals so that the routes would form in linear time and one-by-one. In plain words, we created a vector manageable map that performs with Google technology.
Unfortunately, the only part we were not allowed to rebuild was the whole booking system, which is completely provided by their British partner.
As expected, we cannot really show you large details from the administration panel, since all files in it are confidential corporate documents. Yet, we can reveal that this customised CRM is created and hosted on One Yellow Cloud, our proprietary cloud administration platform, and you can get a small taste by the following screenshots.
Our previous website was outdated, both aesthetically and technically, and had some serious administration issues. We needed a new one, ASAP, with all previous problems addressed. Two Yellow Feet created a beautiful and powerful website, both in desktop and mobile version. And most importantly, we can now manage all website content easily and on our own.
